Oscar Wilde's AN IDEAL HUSBAND

A modern day adaptation

Boston's newly appointed housing czar, Robert Wiltern, is loved and admired by everyone, from his wife Trudy, to his many friends and colleagues at city hall. Loved and admired, that is, until the day his past comes calling. New York socialite and insider politico, Isabelle Chevalier, has a compromising letter penned by Robert years ago involving an illicit financial deal. Now Robert must turn to his closest friend, Arthur Guerin (who has feelings for Robert's younger sister, Lily), to help him bury the past or watch his career implode.

Set against Boston's and Cambridge's political, housing, and development scene, this present-day adaptation retains Wilde's humor, wit and humanist perspective while streamlining and updating Wilde's world for today's audiences.
